Living in Singapore, we are lucky to have access to the enormous resources of the public library.

The Singapore national library is also important because they provide online access to over 100 subscription research databases (think of them like cable TV channels -- you pay for specialized, high-quality information -- but in this case it's the government footing the bill...).
You should also know about a wide range of free web tools that can help you track your research and organize notes and information online.
